The Problem
In the last few decades our health care underwent a lot of changes. We are now very aware of gradation in food qualities. We have healthy as well as unhealthy food. But it is not clear if we have an understanding of what makes food healthy and what contributes to food being categorized as un healthy...Can we truly rely upon the label on the box?
With a lot of big manufacturers trying to take advantage of consumers desire to eat healthy foods, manufactures falsely imply that their product falls into a healthy food category by labeling their product as “ low sugar” or “ low fat” in attempt to grab consumers attention. But do products that carry these labels are truly belong in a category of healthy foods. I will show you how misleading these labels are and that labels such as “ low sugar” and “low fat” are misleading and cannot be the provide true guidance for healthy choices. It is only by reading a full label that consumers can identify if food is tainted with natural flavors, additives or other ingredients that will negatively effect their gut, food absorption and therefore impact their long term health. Once consumers fully understand where their food is coming from they can make informed choices that would better their health.
